A native to Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in performing arts as she grew up. She participated in singing contests she performed in the school's theater program and sang in choruses. She was a student at the University of Southern California and then moved into Los Angeles where she played Belle the gorgeous and Beast Princess in Disneyland for about a year and half. She quit college to find an agent to represent her talents to audition for films and television. Butler was a guest in The TV program CSI: Miami. Butler was featured in the year-long web series Luke 11 17 directed by Don Stark. Butler was also a frequent appearance for the web series I Love Vampires. Butler was cast as the main role on I Spit on Your Grave (a remake) in 2010, a revenge film and rape thriller. It was initially an unpopular choice for her due to the of its nudity, violence and feminist subtexts. However, the compelling narrative and feminist elements helped her decide to accept the role. Steven R. Monroe, the director of the film released it on October 8th 2010. The film was released in November 2011. Butler and Estella Warren began shooting the psychological thriller The Stranger Within in Mallorca in Spain. It was planned to film the film in Copenhagen Denmark, New York City in addition. Butler played in The Demented (2013), that was written and directed by Michael Welch with Kayla and Michael Welch.
